Short Film Showcase (DIGITAL)

Three short films by Jameisha Prescod, Emily Beaney and Sam Metz

About the Event

As part of the 2022 digital and online programme, we invited three artists to share short films online.

On Black Pain by Jameisha Prescod

Jameisha Prescod’s poetic essay film tells intimate stories of three Black people living with chronic pain, while reflecting on the colonial past of modern medicine.

Deviant by Emily Beaney

In this resonant and acutely intimate film, artist Emily Beaney draws attention to the entwined notions of deviance and defiance as experienced and enacted through the female body.

Unpredictable Bodies by Sam Metz

Sam Metz’s animation explores the repetitive movements of neurodivergence, depicting stimming and tics through gestural line forms and dancing, unpredictable bodies.
